SOUTH BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — The South Beach Wine and Food Festival may be one of the hottest events of the year here in South Florida, but you don’t need to burn a hole in your pocket to enjoy it. Some events actually won’t break the bank.

The Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE (SOBEWFF) is known for a lot of decadence and a lot of dollars, but for less than $100, you can get quite a mouthful.

South Florida’s favorite food truck and sandwich shop, Ms. Cheezious, will be partnering up with the James Beard Award-winning author, Laura Werlin, for a “Grilled Cheese Happy Hour” this Friday at the new Cibo Wine Bar in Miami Beach.

The owner of Ms. Cheezious, Brian Mullins, said their “Pesto Melt” will be taking center stage. “It’s one of our cheesier sandwiches,” he said. “It’s got cheese on the outside, cheese on the inside, and its got cheese in the pesto itself. So it’s chock full of cheese. Chock full of cheese.”

Tickets for the “Grilled Cheese Happy Hour” are just $95.

However, if you’re more of a beer connoisseur than a cheese enthusiast, Bank of America’s Local Craft Beer Seminar will be the event for you. The seminar takes guests behind the scenes of one of Miami’s most buzzed about breweries, J. Wakefield Brewing in Wynwood.

The seminar will be hosted by the Miami Herald’s food editor, Evan Benn, and there will be a discussion with brewmaster Jonathan Wakefield himself. Benn said it’s the only craft beer event in the festival’s 15-year history. “Craft beer has really come up so much in South Florida, and the rest of the country, that we wanted to really do something just to highlight craft beer and all the excitement and buzz around that.”

The Local Craft Beer seminar takes place this Saturday at the Ritz-Carlton in South Beach. Tickets are $55.

Also, if you’re planning on bringing your beloved pooch to SOBEWFF, there is an event for you.

This Saturday you can wine and dine with your dogs at the festival’s second annual “Yappie Hour.” The event will be hosted by celebrity chef Rachael Ray at The Standard Spa in Miami Beach, and there will be a special appearance by the dogs of the founder and director of SOBEWFF, Lee Brian Schrager.

Racahel Ray, who is known for her love of dogs, will be distributing her own line of dog food, “Nutrish,” to dogs who attend, while Tito’s Homemade Vodka will be served to all guests 21 and over.

Patty Diaz of Tito’s Homemade Vodka said the event is definitely for dog lovers. “The event is all about love for dogs. Rachael Ray is a huge animal lover. Her own dog Isaboo comes and attends the event too. It’s a great time, and you’ll truly have a beautiful time with your four-legged friend.”

Tickets for the “Yappie Hour” are $95.
